I’ve had a chance to use the Jimmies on trail.
They can be snug enough to use for a water crossing. They fit perfectly.
I also picked up a $.25 (twenty/five cent) pair of sandals. Can’t find them anywhere online.

The new sandals weigh one ounce more than the Jimmies. They have built in metatarsal support.
The big thing is that they are very much easier to put on in the middle of the night. I don’t have to fuss with them to get them on right.
I’d be leery of using them for any serious water crossing.
Odds are I’ll be hiking with the EASY sandals though the Jimmies I suspect would get easier to fit quickly with practice.

Comparing them to alternatives:
https://www.adventurealan.com/ultralight-sandals-backpacking/ has a nice list. So does https://bikepacking.com/gear/ultralight-camp-shoes/
The lightest are basically insoles made into sandals.
Then the Zpacks camp shoes. Not for water crossings. Gazelle (Happy6) started using a pair for camp. They are super light at under two ounces.
After those shoes the options listed by others aren’t lighter than the EASY USA sandals.
Most web sites are filled with heavy affiliate marketing link sandals. Ie ones that weigh twice or three times what these weigh.
Instead of those I’d go back to my croc clones or my swiftwater Crocs — both of which are lighter.
Given I now just hike through water in my shoes they are also overkill.
But, this is my promised review of Jimmies (good, light, comes in only three sizes and at the edge of one size I have to fiddle with them).
Also reviews an item of gear I liked and can’t find anywhere for anyone else to buy a pair. Sorry.
Finally, I mention the Zpacks, a lighter alternative that many like.
