Got up just before 5:00 am, crossed the log across the stream and headed for the shuttle.
“Archangel Chris” (I’m not sure he wants to be identified) via Garmin messages was able to get us a room at the Stehekin Ranch.
The weather started cold. Cold enough I wore my buff and hat. We started getting hot gusts of smoke flavored wind. By 10:00 it was uncomfortably warm.
Since the ranch is only two miles from the shuttle pick-up we walked and arrived in time for lunch. It was very good.
Got our room, we both had showers and now our laundry is running.
Yesterday we took a siesta that was short of half an hour. I couldn’t fall asleep until around 9:00 and woke up several times.
Suddenly after lunch it hit me and I fell asleep for more than half an hour.
We still need to run into town, check the hiker box, have our resupply boxes marked “return to sender” (we don’t need seven days of food to do 19 miles) and use the wi-fi here to access the internet and do some planning.
