This is a collection of links for "do it yourselfers" to follow and use in considering what products to use and how to use them.
Links to the sites for the "big seven" tools follow. Most companies offer reviews and free temporary use downloads of their software at their sites.

I do not believe that most graphics have a place on a lawyer's web site. However, here are links to several graphics tools for the sake of completeness and for considered use and intelligent thought.
To edit image maps, consider 1Automata's Web Hotspots 2.01 or Sausage Software's CrossEye.
To animate GIFs (never, ever include animations on a professional's site) Group 42's WebImage 2.1 or Ulead System's PhotoImpact's GIF Animator.
To adjust photographs for use on a web page, Equalibrium's $595.00 DeBabelizer Pro is the leading tool. Quarterdeck's HiJack Pro is powerful and useful tool as is Uled system's $29.95 PhotoImpact GIF/JPEG SmartSaver.
For general purpose web graphics work, PaintShopPro is often bundled as shareware. 1-800-622-2793 is their toll-free number.
If you must have graphics, read Creating Killer Web Sites by David Siegal and visit his web site at http://www.killersites.com. When you plan to revise your site for 1998 or 1999, you will have needed to have read this book or to talk with someone who has.
This collection of links is pretty much provided to let a reader do their own research and to let the reader find their own conclusion.
My personal conclusions are found in The Right Tools, an essay also provided on this web site. I suggest one of three web authoring tools and explain why I suggest each of them. If you have read through all of this material and checked all the links and want my advice, check The Right Tools -- then feel completely free to disagree with me.
