Dragonscales can come
from greater old dragons for the most effect, though any dragon-kin will
shed scales that can be used in making magical armor. Armor is most effective
if it is transformed and forged with the name of the dragon as it is embedded
in the scales (a dragon will have many layers of names):

If forged and transformed with
the dragon's name, the scales can be merged into existing magical items.
The great advantage to these items is that for purposes of spirit shirts,
they count as exposed -- and they can be worked or transformed with a spirit
shirt creating what is basically spirit shirt armor that does not include
the basic limit on many spirit shirts -- i.e., white spirit shirts transformed
with named dragon scales function both as armor and as an exposed spirit
shirt.

Snake Wire
(Dragon Snakes, comes from the spines -- must kill the snake to obtain,
any effects take the wire from multiple snakes, does not require a name for
use)
-
Grimoire and skill pool increase
effects when inlaid into armor.
-
Elemental absorbtion effects when
inlaid into armor (depending on the type of snake the wire came from)
-
Other effects depending on forging
method used for inlays. The Snow Dwarves are masters of this technique, but
rarely share their skills except as a sign of great favor.
