This is the recipe used for scones for the Queen of Britian in 1939.

2 cups white flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup shortening ( I use margarine)
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup raisins
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk

Mix shortening and sugar, then add flour, baking powder, salt and eggs. Mix well addding milk. Then stir in raisins. Cut into twelve scones.

Bake 425 oven 10 to 15 minutes.

Note, I've given up on scones, though I still keep this recipe.
