| This is a martial arts page that focuses on Judo, but links to other
martial arts interests as well.
It contains :
The special focus of this page is provided in on-line seminars for my three
favorite throws: Ashibari (the Universal Leg
Throw), Tegurumaotoshi (Hand Wheeling Drop),
and Eri Seoi Age (Rising Scarf Throw).
These are my all-time favorite throwing and grappling techniques.
The rest of the material here is provided for the typical "value added" interest
-- and for my personal use. Let me know what you think of the throw seminars.
The entire purpose is to teach responsive
throwing.
Responsive throwing is a way of throwing that involves acting rather than
reacting. It is designed as an end to stiff-arming, game playing and "doggy
dog" judo with an emphasis on clean throws, clean execution and minimal muscling
or game playing.
The seminars above cover the elements that go into understanding responsive
throwing.
Once these three courses have been finished, students are ready to re-enter
their normal training with an eye and a heart oriented towards pure Judo
rather than something else.
For potential future seminar material, see the
Outlines. |
